Our proactive response to covid-19

In early February 2020, we started taking precautions at Beach House to protect our staff and our patients from the risks of COVID-19. We have practiced vigilance in creating a healthy and safe environment. Initiatives that Beach House has implemented, guided by the Joint Commission on Healthcare Accreditation (JCAHO), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO), are as follows:
Prior to Admission:
-
All patients are administered the FDA Authorized CareStart COVID-19 Antigen Rapid Test allowing for effective screening on a large scale. A minimally invasive nasal specimen is collected and coordinated by our Intake Medical Professionals, with a rapid result in 10 minutes. This is not an antibody test, this specific test identifies acute infection with high sensitivity.
-
All patients have their temperature taken to assure we are not admitting anyone with a temperature that is above a threshold for safety.
-
All patients are given a health risk prescreen that is reviewed and signed off on by our Medical Director.
-
Mask wearing during all Intake procedures, prior to completed admission, is required according to CDC and Joint Commission guidelines.

Campus and Staff initiates:
-
Masks provided to all employees and patients by Beach House.
-
Hand sanitizer available to all patients and employees of Beach House; provided directly to them, or administration from a Behavioral Health Technician.
-
All employees have their temperature checked at the start of each shift upon reporting to work.
-
All employees who feel unwell, whether or not the symptoms are similar to COVID-19, are asked to stay home until cleared to return to work.
-
We have 17 housekeepers on campus each and every day. Specific housekeeping staff is dedicated to working on heightened protocols, including cleaning all touch contact surfaces (door handles, counter tops etc.) every 30 minutes.
-
Antibacterial cleaners have been distributed around campus for employees to regularly wipe down their own workspaces (twice per day minimum).
-
Strategic leadership team meetings to address changing guidance from the CDC/WHO.
-
A closed dining room to staff in order to offer additional meal shifts to patients, allowing them to spread out while enjoying the outstanding food we provide at Beach House.
